Key Background
In a stunning production blunder, several cans of High Noon Spirits’ Celsius energy drinks were discovered to have vodka as an ingredient, not a non-alcoholic beverage. This was due to a common packaging supplier who improperly provided Celsius-labeled cans to High Noon Spirits, which owns a well-known vodka seltzer. The spent cans of the energy drinks were filled with alcoholic drinks by mistake and sold in eight states in the United States.
The recall only involves two shipments of High Noon Beach Variety 12-pack vodkas shipped July 21 to July 23, 2025. The cans are misbranded and resemble Celsius Sparkling Blue Razz Astro Vibe energy drinks. The cans are misbranded and have a silver cap versus the black cap found on actual Celsius product. Only those cans with specific lot codes on the packaging and bottom of the can are being recalled.
Nothing ill or injurious has been reported so far; however, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an alert considering the severe risk of accidental alcohol ingestion. This happens particularly in children, pregnant women, alcohol-sensitive people, and others abstaining from alcohol due to various personal, religious, or medical reasons.
High Noon Spirits is reportedly working closely with the federal regulators, wholesalers, and retailers in its quest to take the adulterated products off the shelf as soon as possible. The company has sought the consumers’ collaboration to check up on the lot numbers embedded on their product and dispose of the adulterated cans. Consumers can also call for further guidance on getting a replacement or refund. Customers are advised to be vigilant and not consume any questionable-looking Celsius-branded cans with silver lids bearing the same batch numbers that have been recalled.
