Dr. Syed Raza Honored with Healthcare Excellence in Cardiology Award, 2026

Dr. Syed Raza, Consultant Cardiologist at Awali Hospital, Bahrain, received the Healthcare Excellence in Cardiology Award, 2026, at the Healthcare Innovator & Excellence Awards 2026. The event was held on August 2, 2026, at the Metropolitan Hotel, Dubai, and was presented by InsightsCare and powered by Insights Excellence Awards. Raza Siddiqui, Managing Partner of Arabian Life, Dubai, UAE, attended as Chief Guest. The award recognizes Dr. Raza’s contribution to advancing cardiovascular care and medical leadership in Bahrain and the wider region.

Dr. Raza graduated from Aligarh University in India in 1993 before moving to the United Kingdom for specialist training, where he completed his MRCP and CCT and was later awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. In 2001, he received the Professor John Goodwin Prize for outstanding performance in the Diploma in Cardiology examination at Hammersmith Hospital, University of London. He holds fellowships with the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Chest Physicians, the European Society of Cardiology, and the European Society of Cardiovascular Imaging.

At Awali Hospital, Dr. Raza serves as Consultant Cardiologist and Head of the Department of Medicine, and sits on the Hospital Executive Committee while chairing both the Resuscitation Committee and the Privileging and Credentialing Committee. Before joining Awali Hospital, he practiced as a Consultant in Cardiology at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Trust in the United Kingdom. He also serves as regional educational coordinator for the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and as an examiner for the MRCP examination.

Dr. Raza’s clinical interests center on cardiovascular imaging, heart failure, and acute cardiovascular care, and he led the first heart failure awareness campaign in the Middle East in 2017. He is a teaching faculty member for Healthcare Management and Leadership at Westford University’s Dubai campus and is certified by the American Board in Medical Quality. He is also founder and chairman of Raza Foundations, which works to raise health awareness and provide free healthcare services to underserved communities.

The Healthcare Excellence in Cardiology Award, 2026, adds to the recognition Dr. Raza has built through more than three decades in cardiology, education, and medical leadership. It reflects the trust patients and institutions have placed in his clinical expertise and his commitment to advancing cardiovascular health across the region.
