Background-
The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has launched Voices, an online research community giving insurance and personal finance professionals a stronger voice in shaping industry policy and membership services.
Open to CII members and non-members alike, Voices aims to gather real-world insight from professionals across the sector, helping the Institute engage policymakers and regulators based on frontline experience. The community will also support the CII Group’s work on standards, learning, products and member services.
Participants can join surveys, pulse polls, moderated discussions, topic deep-dives, focus groups and interviews based on their own interests and availability. Members gain early access to research findings, a quarterly digest summarizing community input, and a personal record tracking their contributions.
Active participants can also submit articles for The Journal and Personal Finance Professional and may be invited to thought leadership roundtables and panels. Regular contributors enter a monthly prize draw for a £50 voucher, with the option of directing the reward toward a charitable donation instead.
Matthew Hill, group chief executive of CII, said Voices gives professionals a platform to share their experience and shape the Institute’s research, advocacy and engagement with decision-makers. He added that combining perspectives from hundreds of practitioners helps the Institute better represent the sector on its most pressing issues.
Voices reflects a broader move among professional bodies to build structured research channels beyond periodic surveys, with non-member access aimed at capturing insight beyond the CII’s existing membership base.
