  • Three quarters call Temu a key or primary sales channel.

Background-

A new survey from Temu shows European small businesses selling on the platform are hiring staff, expanding capacity and reaching customers in new international markets.

Half of the more than 150 respondents said they increased capacity, added staff or both since joining Temu, while a third reported expanding into new international markets.

Three quarters of sellers described Temu as an important additional sales channel or their primary channel, and more than four in ten had traded for over a decade before joining, showing established businesses are also using the platform to grow.

A Temu spokesperson said the findings highlight the strong potential of Europe’s small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs to grow when given simpler, more affordable ways to reach new customers, adding that the company looks forward to continuing to help sellers expand and create jobs in their communities.

Spanish spare parts business Recamania, trading for more than 40 years, said Temu delivered strong growth after it opened its store and began receiving 4,000 orders a month, prompting it to expand its warehouse and administrative teams.

In the UK, Leeds-based Money Cruncher fulfilled more than a million orders and added over 20 warehouse roles. In France, Ubedia’s founders left their day jobs to grow their ube powder brand into a six-person team after strong early sales.

Sellers liked Temu’s easy platform, fair prices, and helpful support. Temu is now making onboarding easier. It is also improving fulfilment tools. And it is teaming up with local trade groups to help sellers grow.
