Background-
Intercity, a leading UK managed service provider headquartered in Birmingham, has become the official technology partner for the Black Country Chamber of Commerce’s growing Business Club, deepening its commitment to the region.
The partnership will see Intercity share practical knowledge and insight to help Chamber members navigate rapid technological change. Its specialists will also support organisations seeking to strengthen cyber security, modernise operations, adopt digital transformation and harness the potential of AI.
Intercity’s chief executive Charlie Blakemore said the Black Country holds strong importance for the company, both due to its proximity to the firm’s headquarters and its concentration of sectors the company regularly serves, including housing, construction, charities, education, manufacturing and professional services. He noted the company already supports well known local organisations such as housing association whg, YMCA Black Country Group and EH Smith, describing the Chamber partnership as a natural extension of that regional commitment.
Intercity has created 50 new jobs across the Midlands over the past eighteen months and delivers managed IT services, communications, connectivity, cloud, cyber security and AI transformation support to organisations in the region.
Its relationship with the Chamber also contributed to a recent win as official technology partner of Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, supporting resilience, operational efficiency and visitor experience initiatives.
Sean Jackson, head of membership at the Chamber, said Intercity’s growing involvement reflects its belief that strong relationships underpin effective partnerships, adding that its active community role made the Business Club partnership a natural fit built on shared value.
