Key Background:
Tata Motors shall transform the Indian premium electric SUV space with the introduction of the Harrier EV on 3rd June 2025. The Harrier EV, unveiled recently at the Bharat Mobility Expo in the ongoing year, offers rugged looks blended with premium electric mobility solutions. It is Tata’s foray into introducing its success-guaranteeing EV line in the premium space following Nexon EV and Tigor EV.
Harrier’s electric variant does not differ substantially in its look from its ICE sibling but details like shut-off grille, EV-only signature flair, and cutting-edge alloy wheels in sleek shape are different. is not the option of a cosmetic nip but comes with the likes of Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) to make the SUV capable of charging external devices or talking to smart infrastructure. And yet another highlight feature is the ‘Summon’ feature—a self-park system with the aim of making city convenience.
Tata’s twin-motor setup on its new design provides a performance-focused Harrier EV with 4WD capability, making it more popular among the performance-hungry buyers. The drivetrain technology allows the SUV to cruise over mixed terrain without jeopardizing energy efficiency. The estimated 500 km single-charge range eliminates one of the strongest hurdles in the EV market—range anxiety—and transforms the Harrier EV into a coveted long-distance driving vehicle.
The estimated price range of between ₹24 lakh and ₹28 lakh, the Harrier EV is aimed directly into India’s fast-growing premium EV market. The Harrier EV will compete against the Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, Kia Carens EV, and the upcoming Maruti e-Vitara. Tata’s continuous investment in future-proof electric drivetrain technology, connectedness, and autonomous technologies positions the Harrier EV well to win eyeballs and volumes in the fast-changing world of EVs.
